Manchester United have made their first signing of the summer transfer window in the shape of Donny van de Beek.
The 23-year-old Dutch midfielder joins United from Ajax in a deal worth £34.6m, a fee which could rise to £39m with add-ons.
He’s signed a five-year contract at Old Trafford with the option of an additional year.
Van de Beek is a hugely exciting prospect, having shone in the Eredivisie and also during Ajax’s run to the semi-finals of the Champions League.
The Ajax CEO – and former United goalkeeper – Edwin van der Sar wrote to Reds fans exclusively in the MEN today to wish the player good luck and to welcome him to Manchester.
