Manchester United are big favourites in their Europa League quarter-final 2nd leg clash with Spanish side Granada CF.
United are poised to reach the semi-final of the competition following their victory in Spain last week, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side scoring two away goals without reply in their 2-0 win.
However, the Reds will be without a host of first-team players on Thursday evening, with Anthony Martial, Phil Jones, Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire (suspension), Scott McTominay (suspension) and Eric Bailly against the La Liga side, with Daniel James and Marcus Rashford also injury doubts.
Alex Telles, Axel Tuanzebe, Mason Greenwood, Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba are all expected to start at Old Trafford.
So, what team could Solskjaer go with against Granada in the 2nd leg? And, what could the final score be?
We used FIFA 21 to get a unique score prediction.
We simulated Man United vs Granada to get a score prediction
To set up this simulation, we used kick-off mode within FIFA 21 but didn’t select a team to control; we then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself, to give us a prediction.
The AI difficulty was set to legendary, with the line-up updated with the latest transfers, injuries and suspensions.
To get the Europa League graphics included in our pictures, the match had to be played at a neutral venue on FIFA 21, which is why the game wasn’t played at Old Trafford in this simulation.
We predict that United could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Tuanzebe, Telles; Pogba, Fred, Fernandes; Greenwood, Cavani, James.
We predict that Granada could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Silva; Dias, Sanchez,Vallejo, Neva; Gonalons, Herrera; Kenedy, Montoro, Puertas; Soldado.
United got off to a great start in this game, effectively putting the tie to bed after just 18 minutes.
Following a nice passage of play, Paul Pogba found Bruno Fernandes in the box, who fired home first time to make it 1-0, and 3-0 on aggregate.
But just before half-time, Granada grabbed a lifeline.
In the 44th minute, a quick break from the away side eventually led to midfielder Angel Montoro on the edge of the area, who shifted the ball and produced a great finish into the net to make it 3-1 on aggregate and 1-1 on the night.
However, a strong second-half performance from United saw the Reds advance to the Europa League semi-final, with a goal from midfielder Fred putting the game to bed in the 59th minute.
The Brazilian made a late run into the box and was found by Cavani, with the midfielder guiding a shot with his right foot into the bottom corner.
Predicted FIFA 21 score: United (4) 2-1 (1) Granada

FIFA 21 predicts that United shouldn’t have too much trouble overcoming an average Granada side on Thursday, and should expect to seal their place in the Europa League semi-final with a 2nd leg win.
