Two Chelsea players ruled out of Premier League fixture vs Man United

Frank Lampard says Chelsea have no fresh injury concerns ahead of their trip to face Manchester United in the Premier League this weekend.

The London side will be looking to build on a mixed start to the new season which has seen them win just twice in the league with dropped points in 3-3 draws against West Brom and Southampton, as well as a 2-0 defeat at home to Liverpool.

Chelsea are winless in their last seven Premier League away matches against United (D4 L3); their longest run without a top-flight win at Old Trafford since a 16-game streak which ended in January 1957.

Lampard will be keen for his side to make an impact this weekend and he confirmed there are no fresh injury concerns for Chelsea, although emergency goalkeeper Petr Cech won’t feature.

“Yeah both are fine,” Lampard said of Thiago Silva and Christian Pulisic at his pre-match press conference. “We’ve got a pretty clean bill of health on that side other than Kepa who has a shoulder issue, so won’t travel to Manchester. The only other player out is Billy Gilmour which is long-term, but he will be back soon. Petr Cech is not coming, no. Not in that capacity you’re getting at.”

United are themselves hopeful Edinson Cavani, Harry Maguire and Mason Greenwood will all be fit for the match day squad after the trio missed out on the midweek win over Paris Saint-Germain.

“I hope and expect all three of them to be available for selection,” Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said. “Of course, we’ve got a training session this morning but they’ve all got a chance, all of them.”
