Torreira to consider Arsenal future
Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira has admitted he needs to seriously think about his future amid links to AC Milan.
“I have to think thoroughly about my future. I have a contract with Arsenal and I have to respect it,” the midfielder told Uruguayan radio station Sport 890.
“Obviously, if I were to leave, I would do it for the best possible destination. We have to be calm and wait.”
“Last season I played continuously, this one less so,” he continued.
“This year has been more complicated: I have lost continuity and confidence. I do not like this. At this age I need to play to be called up for the national team.
“Transfer rumours? I don’t know anything right now. I need to rest because it was a very long season, I got injured, then there was the coronavirus.
“I have a contract with Arsenal, but if I have to change in the future it will be a decision I make for my own good.
“Every player looks for a team where he feels important. We will see what happens in the future.”
Tottenham eyeing up Emerson
Tottenham are interested in signing Barcelona right-back Emerson this summer, according to Diario de Sevilla.
With Serge Aurier reportedly in talks with AC Milan, Jose Mourinho is looking to bring a right-back to the club during the window.
The report claims Tottenham have already made contact with the Brazilian who has spent the last two season on loan at Real Betis.
Barcelona have shared ownership with the Spanish club, however, which could potentially make a move more challenging.
It’s well documented that Liverpool are not likely to make huge signings this summer.
However, that does not mean Jurgen Klopp will not add to his squad – and young Brazilian Talles Magno has been linked with a move to Anfield.
According to reports in the Brazil, Liverpool have enquired about the 18-year-old Vasco de Gama, who is said to have a release clause of £45m.
Hojbjerg to join Tottenham this weekend
Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will complete his move to Tottenham this weekend, with Kyle Walker-Peters heading the other way.
Both deals have been kept separate but fees of £15million for the Dane and £12m for the English defender have been agreed.
Hojbjerg will now discuss personal terms with Tottenham, which is expected to be a formality given the player’s desire to join Jose Mourinho’s team.
Mourinho has been an admirer of Hojbjerg for some months, with Spurs registering tentative interest in the 25-year-old during the January transfer window.
The Spurs boss is keen to bring in a more combative midfielder to allow his creative talents to flourish further forward, while Hojbjerg has been outspoken about his desire to play at a higher level.

Has Willian played his last game for Chelsea?
Chelsea have flown out to Munich with a 23-man squad ahead of their Champions League last-16 clash against the German champions tomorrow.

But the Brazilian was not among the 23 players who travelled to Munich, suggesting it is increasingly likely he will complete a free transfer to capital rivals Arsenal.
Liverpool prepare Lewis swap deal
Liverpool are planning to include Yasser Larouci as part of a swap deal for Norwich City full-back Jamal Lewis, report the Daily Mail.
The Reds reportedly had a £10million bid turned down by the Canaries, who value the left-back at double that.
Liverpool reportedly believe they will get their man for less than £20million, however, and are willing to include the 19-year-old in any deal made.

Chelsea are interested in Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, reports ESPN.
The keeper has two years left on his current contract and Chelsea understand luring him away from Camp Nou would take some doing. Inter Milan are also interested.
Chelsea hope to position themselves as the obvious next destination should Ter Stegen fail to agree a new contract at Barcelona, with Petr Cech leading the charm offensive.
Kepa Arrizabalaga’s career at Stamford Bridge appears to be heading to an end.
Bayer Leverkusen insist that Chelsea cannot expect a coronavirus discount on Kai Havertz’s transfer fee.
Standard Sport understands that Havertz is a key summer target for Chelsea, with the 21-year-old also interested in moving to Stamford Bridge – but Leverkusen will not sell while they are in the Europa League.
Should Bayer Leverkusen exit the tournament to Inter Milan on Monday, then Havertz’s future will be – and Chelsea are hoping to complete a deal for around £70million.
However, Leverkusen’s club’s director, Rudi Voller, has warned Chelsea that they will not get a better deal due to the financial impact of Covid-19 on the transfer market.
“Havertz? We know that Chelsea are strongly interested in him… but we’ll not sell any player before the end of the Europa League,” Voller told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“If Chelsea want to sign Kai, they must pay what we ask. No lower price because of Covid.”

Skriniar is considered among the best centre-backs in Europe but the report claim Antonio Conte is ready to consider his sale.
What makes this more interesting is Inter’s continual links with Tanguy Ndombele and reported desire to enter talks over a deal.
One to keep an eye on, for sure.

Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick has accepted that Thiago Alcantara may wish to take on a new challenge in the Premier League amid strong links to Liverpool.
The 29-year-old is in the final year of his contract with the Bavarian giants and is believed to be keen on linking up with Jurgen Klopp’s newly crowned champions.
Standard Sport understands a Liverpool bid for the Spaniard remains unlikely without a major departure, and even then his injury record and wage demands would likely prove a stumbling block.
However, Thiago would at least has the blessing of his current manager were he to push for a move to England this summer.
“I can understand when a player thinks about a move,” Flick told Sport1. “Thiago has played for FC Barcelona in Spain and for FC Bayern München in Germany. If he wants to play in the Premier League now, I totally understand.”
With Willian set to join on a free transfer, signing a three-year deal worth around £100,000 a week, Arsenal will then turn to securing Dani Ceballos for another season on loan.
Then it’s about Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey and Lille centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes.

Chelsea have been linked with several other left-backs as they look to address a problem position over the coming weeks, with reports from Spain yesterday even claiming that they were in advanced talks with Real Madrid over Sergio Reguilon, who has been so impressive out on loan at Sevilla.
However, Football Insider now claims there has been a key breakthrough in the Chilwell saga, with Chelsea increasingly confident of sealing a transfer worth approximately £50m for the England defender, having negotiated Leicester down from the initial £80m price tag previously being touted.
Arsenal are close to agreeing a new contract with FA Cup hero Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after a breakthrough in talks with the forward, writes Dan Kilpatrick.
Following months of negotiations, the 31-year-old is believed to have verbally agreed a new deal until 2023, thought to be worth more than £250,000 a week. Barring any late hitches, Aubameyang is now expected to commit his future to the club in a major boost to manager Mikel Arteta.
The club captain has scored 70 goals in 109 appearances since signing from Borussia Dortmund for £56million in January 2018 and he has proved indispensable for Arteta, most recently with a match-winning performance in last Saturday’s FA Cup Final win over Chelsea.
Aubameyang is set to be joined in north London next season by Willian, with the Chelsea winger close to agreeing a three-year deal with Arsenal, believed to be worth in excess of £100,000 a week.

A number of fringe players are expected to depart this summer, with AC Milan target Lucas Torreira and Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who is wanted by Everton and Brighton, among them.
Chelsea will be looking to former manager Antonio Conte next week to do them a favour in their pursuit of Kai Havertz.
Conte’s Inter Milan face Havertz’s Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League quarter-finals on Monday.
Leverkusen have been clear that star forward Havertz will not leave the club until their Europa League commitments are over. Sporting director Rudi Voller told Kicker in July: “It is set in stone [that Havertz will play]. There is no new stance.”
Should Inter knock Leverkusen out of Europa early next week, it paves the way for Chelsea to wrap up a deal for Havertz.
