Carlos Tevez’s CV is a colourful one.
The Argentinian striker began his career in his home country before branching out and heading for Europe in 2006. While Tevez played in the Premier League for some time, he also went to Italy and, eventually, returned to Argentina via a brief stint in China.
The quality of player that the forward played alongside over the course of his career is not in question; he was part of sides in either half of Manchester which lifted Premier League titles, while his time at Juventus also coincided with a particularly fruitful period for the Old Lady.
Which XI did Tevez play with the most over that time, though?
We totted up the appearances and playing minutes of those stars who featured with the attacker, via Transfermarkt – this isn’t necessarily the best XI of former teammates, but this side is made up of his most common colleagues.
To perfectly outline just how talented the company that Tevez kept was, the list of those who miss out is quite something.
Compatriots Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero, defenders Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand, United legends Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes and maestro Andrea Pirlo all miss out.
- The XI is made up of players who made the most appearances alongside our featured player or for our featured manager. We’re not looking for an overall ‘Best’ XI, and the player/manager himself isn’t in it.
- For a player, the appearance numbers are based on the time they spent on the pitch at the same time as our main man, factoring in both club and international level.
- This isn’t necessarily the eleven players who’ve spent the most time on the pitch with/for him, just the eleven that would fit into a working team.
- We’re not going to come up with a Garth Crooksesque formation, but we might name subs if we feel like it.

Hart is quite high on the overall Tevez list, having played with the forward at City either side of a loan spell at Birmingham City. Upon his return, City really stepped up their title credentials and, at either end of the pitch, Hart and Tevez were very effective.
Hart edges out the next keeper, Italian legend Gianluigi Buffon, with whom Tevez played at Juve.

Right-back and City fan favourite Zabaleta tops the list of players who have shared a pitch the most with Tevez – that’s 125 appearances and just shy of 8,000 competitive minutes, for club and country.
That includes the pair’s time away together representing their native Argentina. From there, they branched out to play for the country in the Olympics in 2004, before reuniting at City.

Captain Fantastic, Kompany played alongside Zabaleta in the back-line of that famous City side which delivered glory to the Etihad Stadium.
Kompany, of course, took the armband on the back of Roberto Mancini stripping Tevez of it in the summer of 2011, and it proved to be a successful move as the Belgian helped to build a dynasty that spanned the decade.

It was a particularly purple period for Tevez in Italy. He spent two years at Juve between 2013-2015 after leaving City and was the club’s top scorer in both campaigns.
Juve won four trophies, two of them league titles, and reached the Champions League final in 2015 before being beaten by Barcelona in a terrific climax to the competition. Leonardo Bonucci, an Italian international, was a fixture in the back-line.

Left-back Evra completes the defence. He appeared in two different sides with Tevez – at Manchester United and Juventus.
The Frenchman was part of the United side which eventually saw off Chelsea in Moscow in the 2008 Champions League final, a game in which Tevez himself found the net.
The pair, who became firm friends in Manchester, then reunited in Turin for a year, and had another stab at the Champions League.

Gareth Barry is the second player on the list, behind Zabaleta, in terms of appearances and all of them came with Tevez at City.
Midfielder Barry, as we well know, is the Premier League’s record appearance maker with 653 outings. That’s a testament to his ability to maintain his high fitness levels over an extended period.
It meant that he was always available for selection, and so shared plenty of pitch-time with Tevez.

Midfielder Javier Mascherano has spent plenty of time in Tevez’s company.
He joined his compatriot, with whom he’s played regularly on the international stage too, in moving from Corinthians to West Ham United in 2006 before the pair went their separate ways and the former went to Liverpool.
Still in that time – and though they haven’t featured together again since – the pair racked up a number of shared outings.

Tevez and Yaya stood out as two of City’s real talents in that era, both of them able to influence games at any given moment in the final third.
Both played significant roles in delivering success to the club, especially in the run-in in 2012 once Tevez had been welcomed back into the fold, and another full season followed before he left for Juventus. In that time, both players became regulars under Mancini.

The Spanish magician himself.
You will forever put Silva in the same bracket as Yaya, Zabaleta and Kompany as pillars of the squad which City have built around in the last 10 years.
The two players were on the pitch in sky blue shirts for over 5,000 minutes while together at City, and in that time they produced nine goals between them.

Tevez, Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney made up a fearsome front-line for United under Sir Alex Ferguson which won the Champions League and terrorised defences in the Premier League. That group of attackers was joined by Dimitar Berbatov a year later.
It was in this period where Ronaldo and Tevez really flourished, prior to the former leaving in a huge transfer deal for Real Madrid. The Portugal superstar, of course, has since joined Juventus, missing a potential Tevez reunion by a few years.

Former Tottenham forward Fernando Llorente beats the likes of Rooney to a spot in this Tevez XI after joining the Argentine in attack for Juve for pretty much the entirety of those two years in Italy.
The target man and speedy poacher combo worked a treat for Juve under Antonio Conte and then Massimiliano Allegri, and in the matches where these two featured together, they averaged almost 2.5 points per game – that’s an incredible return.
