Son Heung-min has been included in Tottenham’s squad for their encounter with Manchester United on Sunday.
Son came off at half-time in Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle last Sunday due to a hamstring injury but has travelled with the Spurs squad to Manchester.
New Tottenham signing Carlos Vinicius also arrived after joining Spurs on a season-long loan from Benfica.
Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho said last week Son was out ‘for a while’ but the South Korean could be recalled to the starting XI at Old Trafford. Son scored four times in Tottenham’s last Premier League win at Southampton two weeks ago.
Mourinho received a warm reception from United supporters when he returned to Old Trafford as a pundit against Chelsea and Liverpool last season prior to his appointment as Spurs coach in November.
The Portuguese won the League Cup and the Europa League with United in his first season before presiding over a second-place finish in his second campaign when United were beaten in the FA Cup final.
Mourinho guided United to wins over Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal and Juventus in his last calendar year in charge and is the club’s most successful manager in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era. United have still not won a trophy since the Europa League triumph in May 2017.
“I won what was possible to win,” Mourinho said. “I didn’t win what was not possible to win. I gave everything, I gave my life to the club and my professionalism, like I always do.
“Internally, lots of friends for life, lots of amazing people that I met in the club. I only have good feelings, feelings that I will have to forget in 90 minutes because for 90 minutes, they want to win, I want to win, that’s football.”
