Manchester United youngster Shola Shoretire has named Marcus Rashford as his inspiration.
Shoretire has impressed in Neil Wood’s Under-23 development side despite being just 16-years-old.
The midfielder has scored two and assisted two for United this season and is highly regarded by the staff at Carrington.
Shoretire revealed he received advice from Mason Greenwood prior to the forward’s permanent promotion to the first-team and was also asked about any players he idolises during a YouTube interview with Harry Pinero.
The 16-year-old heaped praise on his teammate Rashford and named the England international as his idol.
“I think Marcus Rashford,” he said when asked when current player inspires him.
“The things that he does on the pitch and off the pitch.
“He’s a good role model.
“Seeing him do that, it makes me think I can do that too.”
Shoretire also revealed conversations with former United and England star Michael Owen who also burst on to the scene as a youngster.
He added: “I spoke to him in person. He’s inspiring.
He made his debut at 16. He was scoring goals for fun at 16 at such a young age.
“It’s always good to hear to former players who have retired who know about the game and can help you.”
