Ryan Giggs makes Manchester United prediction about Dylan Levitt

2 min read

Ryan Giggs believes that Manchester United youngster Dylan Levitt is destined for great things.

The young midfielder has been called up by Wales manager Giggs to a number of his international squads in the past year, though has made only one senior appearance for United – in the Europa League game against Astana in November. He also awaits a first cap for his national team.

Despite that, Levitt is highly rated by coaches at United and MEN Sport understands the 19-year-old is among a cluster of players being considered for a loan move next season along with James Garner and others.

Giggs admitted that he likes Levitt’s mentality and will be giving him more game time for Wales in the coming months and years.

“When Dylan was in the squad, we (Wales) had must-win games so I couldn’t really throw him in and put him in that pressure cooker,” Giggs told United’s official website.

“But, in training, he’s one of the best. He’s my kind of player – a good character, quiet but tough, and he’s one that I’ll be taking a big look at over the next year or so.

“I want him to develop and if he does and, if he plays more games, then he’ll definitely be in the reckoning. He’s a really intelligent player with a good range of passing and he stands out in training in every session.

“As I said, it’s just a shame that I couldn’t get him on the pitch.”

As well as his solitary first team appearance, Levitt played 12 games for United’s Under-23s and helped Neil Wood’s side to second in the table before the season was called to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Levitt scored three goals and provided four assists.
