Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon would prefer to move to Sevilla instead of Manchester United this summer, according to reports.
Following the arrival of Donny van de Beek from Ajax, MEN Sport understands that United are working on up to three more transfers before the October 5 deadline.
It’s understood that the club are prioritising attacking signings this summer, with Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho the priority target, but are also monitoring a number of left-backs due to uncertainty in the position.
One of them is Spaniard Reguilon, who impressed on loan at Sevilla last season and played a major role in their triumphant Europa League campaign, in which they knocked United out in the semi-finals.
Despite his talent, the 23-year-old remains behind Ferland Mendy and Marcelo in the pecking order at Madrid and is expected to leave the Bernabeu again this summer.
AS report that while moving to United is tempting for Reguilon, he’s also worried that a permanent departure from Madrid would ruin his chances of ever playing for his hometown club.
As a result, it’s claimed that he would prefer to return to Sevilla for another loan stint this year so he can try and break into the Los Blancos team in 2021/22.
MEN Sport understands that United are also monitoring Dynamo Kiev’s 21-year-old left-back Vitaliy Mykolenko.
Meanwhile, it is now reported that United are ready to launch a stunning attempt to sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid, with the Spanish club finally willing to let him go.
According to the Daily Star, the Madrid winger is now being strongly considered by United as an alternative to Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.
MEN Sport does not understand the Welshman to be a target, with David Brooks, Kingsly Coman, Thiago Almada and Rabbi Matondo all being considered as back-up options if Sancho can’t be signed.
