Independiente del Valle have increased their asking price for Manchester United target Moises Caicedo, according to reports.
With the financial impact of COVID-19 still being felt in football, January isn’t expected to be a busy month of transfers for United but the club are hoping to bring in highly-rated midfielder Caicedo.
The 19-year-old had made waves in his native Ecuador and is already a regular for his club and country at just 19, which hasn’t gone unnoticed by United’s extensive scouting network.
M.E.N. Sport reported in December that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are aiming to finalise a deal in the region of €6million for the player, which could include a 20 per cent sell on clause.
Reports in Ecuador last month claimed the deal is ‘official’ but a source privy to the negotiations told the M.E.N. that negotiations are still ongoing.
Now, according to El Diario, Independiente have increased their asking price to €10million.
United are aiming to complete the transfer in January so Caicedo can move to Manchester as soon as possible due to new work permit regulations.
The teenager has also seemingly dropped a hint over his desire to move to United on social media as he ‘liked’ the club’s video on Instagram of Paul Pogba showing off some skills.
Meanwhile, West Ham United are reportedly in talks to sign United’s Jesse Lingard.
The Sheffield Star cite Sheffield United’s own interest in the playmaker but suggest West Ham have already made contact over a deal.
The forward is out of favour at United and has played just twice so far this season, with both appearances coming in the Carabao Cup.
