Paul Pogba has joked about speculation that a return to Juventus could be on the cards this summer with a message to former Turin teammate Claudio Marchisio on Instagram.
The Frenchman has enjoyed perhaps his best string of performances since returning to the club in the latter half of this past season, but his future remains up in the air.
Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, caused controversy in December with a bombshell interview in which he claimed that his client’s time at Old Trafford was over.
Real Madrid and Juventus have been the two ever-present sides to be linked with a move for the 28-year-old, with the Old Lady seemingly keen to bring him back to the club.
Pogba initially left United for Juve in 2012 and enjoyed a trophy-laden four years in Italy before returning to Manchester in 2016 in an £89million deal and now he has poked fun at the suggestion of a possible return.
On an Instagram post in which he announced his new ‘Adidas Pog’Pitch’ in his home town of Roissy-en-Brie, former Juventus midfielder Marchisio commented: “We need one in Turin too. Go on, come back, go on, come back…”
To which Pogba cheekily replied: “OK Principe, next destination is Turin,” downplaying the seriousness of the comment with a wink emoji.
