Paul Pogba has called his international teammate Ousmane Dembele to try and convince him to join Manchester United, according to reports.
United now have just three days to salvage their transfer window and add to their solitary signing of Donny van de Beek before the window closes on October 5.
The Borussia Dortmund star has been Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s top target for months but, as of yet, United have been unwilling to meet the Bundesliga side’s valuation.
Dortmund remain adamant that the 20-year-old will be staying with the club this summer and, while they have not yet given up on a deal, United are actively looking for alternatives.
David Brooks, Douglas Costa and Ivan Perisic have all been considered and Barcelona’s Dembele has also been heavily touted.
According to Mundo Deportivo United’s Pogba has attempted to persuade his fellow Frenchman to move to Old Trafford by discussing United’s ambitions and highlighted there are many French speakers in the squad. It’s also claimed Dembele would get far more playing time at United.
M.E.N. Sport understand Dembele is only considered an option on loan for United if they fail to sign Sancho and they will not consider a permanent purchase.
