Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has defended Manchester United‘s record in the transfer market amid fan frustration over a lack of new arrivals.
The summer window closes at 11pm on Monday evening but United have only brought in Donny van de Beek with their pursuit of Jadon Sancho and others proving unsuccessful so far.
But Solskjaer, speaking ahead of United’s game with Tottenham this Sunday, admitted he was wrong to say that the club could ‘exploit’ the financial impact of Covid-19 on the transfer market to sign players.
He also added that some of United’s fringe players from last season have impressed him.
