Gary Neville was feeling a little delicate after Tottenham’s 6-1 drubbing of his beloved Manchester United, but he seemed to be cheered up by Jamie Carragher’s Liverpool being thrashed 7-2.

Another bizarre match-day of the 2020-21 Premier League season first saw it’s most successful team, United, humiliated by former manager Jose Mourinho, before Aston Villa ran riot against the champions hours later.

Covering the matches were Sky mainstays Neville and Carragher, who poked fun at each other’s miserable days work on Twitter

The former right-back kicked things off by tweeting a shot of himself sipping a glass of red wine with an exceedingly smug expression.

The comments were quick to point out Neville’s ‘shamelessness’ before he added another photo, this time posing below an image of his colleague analysing the Liverpool disaster on TV.

The former Red later replied: ‘I’ll feel better tomorrow when you sign Cavani,’ alongside laughing and face-palm emoji’s.

Neville is unsure over United’s plans to sign PSG’s Edinson Cavani, likening the transfer to their late signing of Radamel Falcao in the 2014- later flopping.

The United legend believes the move ‘wasn’t in the plan’ and called the team ‘spineless’ for their collapse against Spurs after going down to 10-men following Anthony Martial’s dismissal.

Carragher was as baffled by the Reds’ collapse, calling it ‘possibly one of the worst defensive display’s I’ve seen’ on commentary.
