Manchester United halted talks with West Ham over a deal for Jesse Lingard on Thursday night.
Negotiations were at an advanced stage with United asking for a £1.5m loan fee plus Lingard’s £80,000 a week wages for the rest of the season.
However, discussions are understood to have become strained and United on Thursday night took the step of notifying other clubs that Lingard was still available.

Jesse Lingard’s potential move on loan to West Ham was at an advanced stage but is in doubt
While a deal between the clubs is not totally off the table, insiders say it could prove difficult to resolve.
Newcastle United could now emerge as favourites for the 28-year-old who has only made three appearances this season.
West Brom were also in the running but have made headway on other targets.
Lingard’s preference is the move to London Stadium but it remains to be seen whether the differences can be overcome.
