Manchester United have had an opening offer of £67million rejected for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.
Talks are ongoing but the clubs are understood to be around £13.5million apart in valuation for the 21-year-old.
Dortmund also want more of the fee up front and paid over a shorter period. There is optimism still that a deal will be concluded with further performance related bonuses on top.
Manchester United have finally made their first official move to sign Jadon Sancho
United have tracked the English star since last summer, though could not agree to Borussia Dortmund‘s lofty demands of £108million and saw the opportunity pass by.
Recently crowned Champions League winners Chelsea are also said to be heavily interested in Sancho, who grew up in south London supporting the club.

Chelsea are in the market to spend big this summer, after targeting a return to the summit of English football following their European triumph against the odds.
It is reported, however, that financial agreements between Sancho’s party and United are already in place, meaning only the clubs themselves have to thrash out the small print.
At United Sancho would be in line for a lucrative deal earning in the region of around £13m per year and become one of the highest earners in England as a result.
It would represent a huge step up from his current contract at the Signal Iduna Park, with Sancho annually pocketing around £7m with Dortmund.

Dortmund expect interest in Sancho to increase during the Euros and so will bargain hard
It is well known that Sancho enjoys a strong friendship with fellow England international Marcus Rashford, and United are hoping this could become an influential factor in securing the deal.
The links with Sancho to United have been solid for some time, and as recently as March Old Trafford star Paul Pogba teased supporters with the prospect of the youngster signing by dropping a hint during commercial work with Pepsi.
Starring alongside Sancho in an advert for the soft drink giants, Pogba shared the footage to social media along with the speculation-triggering caption ‘finally on the same team’ with the addition of a winking face.
United remain keen to negotiate a new contract for Paul Pogba. His current deal is up in the summer of 2022 and on Thursday he told French media: ‘I have one year left on my contract, everyone knows that.
