Manchester United have released eight players, including experienced goalkeeper Sergio Romero.
However, United are in talks with Juan Mata and Lee Grant regarding new contracts, with their current deals set to expire on June 30.
As reported by the club’s official website, Romero and fellow shot-stopper Joel Pereira have been let go along with youngsters Jacob Carney, Mark Helm, Iestyn Hughes, Arnau Puigmal, Max Taylor and Aliou Traore.

United are eager to keep Mata despite the Spaniard having made just nine Premier League appearances this season.
38-year-old goalkeeper Grant, meanwhile, has played twice since joining United in 2018.

Romero signed for United in 2015 and made 61 appearances for the club, which included keeping a clean sheet in the victory against Ajax in the 2017 Europa League final.
However, having fallen down the pecking order, Romero didn’t play at all during his final season at Old Trafford.
Pereira played three times for United’s first-team, which included an appearance against Crystal Palace in the Premier League in 2017.
The erstwhile Portugal youth international has six loan spells away from United, most recently spending time with Huddersfield Town.
United are also looking to persuade 22-year-old goalkeeper Paul Woolston to sign a new deal.
