Manchester United are reportedly keen on singing highly rated Metz midfielder Pape Sarr.
The 18-year-old won his first cap for Senegal in an African Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo last month, the call up came only four months after he made his league debut for Metz.
According to The Sun, Sarr has been scouted regularly by a host of top European clubs including United.
Manchester United reportedly want to sign Metz’s Senegal international midfielder Pape Sarr
Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could be set for a busy transfer window this summer
Reports in France earlier this month indicated that Nice sporting director Julien Fournier was also interested in signing Sarr.
However, it is believed that the box-to-box midfielder favours a move to a bigger club.
Metz coach Frederic Antonetti played his cards close to his chest when asked about Sarr’s future last weekend.
‘We already have a lot of players who are in demand for the future.’ Said Antonetti.
United have also been linked with Andre Silva and Real Madrid star Raphael Varane (pictured)
Sarr signed a five-year-deal with Metz last year but they now face a struggle to keep hold of one of their prized assets.
The talented youngster has scored twice for Metz this season and created 11 chances.
It could be a busy summer in the transfer market for Manchester United, they’re also reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane and Eintracht Frankfurt striker Andre Silva.
