Some Manchester United fans have hit back at the criticism dished out in the direction of Brazilian midfielder Fred, after Watford striker Troy Deeney picked out some faults within his game.
The Hornets striker, who is yet to play for the Vicarage Road club this season following their relegation from the Premier League last season, made some harsh criticisms of the former Shakhtar Donetsk man following United’s impressive 2-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
Fred played the full 90 minutes of United’s impressive victory in the French capital, with striker Marcus Rashford netting a dramatic late winner after an Anthony Martial own-goal had cancelled out Bruno Fernandes’ first half penalty.
Deeney took aim at the United star on talkSPORT with some harsh criticism of the Brazilian international.
“I think Fred, whenever you play against him, we certainly did it, you let him get it [the ball] as he has to take three or four touches,” Deeney told talkSPORT. “He doesn’t know how to take one or two touches.
“Anyone who watches his game will notice he gets it [the ball] facing the wrong way, turns, turns, chops and gives you the ball.
“It is the truth. If anyone studies football you will know that. When they are sat in and they are waiting, you know that there is one person is the trigger, and it is him.”
