Manchester United fans have demanded Edinson Cavani is named in the starting XI to face Burnley in the Premier League tonight.
United have the opportunity to go top of the table overtaking Sunday’s opponents Liverpool after 17 games played.
The Reds will take confidence from their away record this season – Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are the only team in the division not to have tasted defeat on their travels this campaign, only failing to win once.
United’s squad is almost at full strength which hands Solskjaer a number of selection dilemmas.
Cavani is back available for selection after serving a three-match ban and the United boss revealed the Uruguay international used his time on the sidelines to recover from a hectic festive fixture list.
He said: “Edinson has trained well. He had a couple of days off. He is ready to go, I am glad to have him back. He will be important for us until the end of the season.”
United fans believe Cavani’s showings prior to his suspension mean he must start against the Clarets.
After the game against Burnley, United travel to Anfield to face title rivals Liverpool on January 17.
United have also been drawn against their North West rivals in the fourth round of the FA Cup with that game scheduled to take place one week later at Old Trafford.
Cavani could be one of two senior central forwards at the club at the end of January when Odion Ighalo’s loan spell ends.
