One of Marcus Rashford’s teammates appears to have dropped the Manchester United forward from their Fantasy Premier League team – but fans are not convinced that it means he won’t face Manchester City.
On the back of a similar leak at Aston Villa, surrounding the fitness of Jack Grealish, his fellow England international has reportedly been taken out by an unnamed United player ahead of tomorrow afternoon’s Manchester derby.
Rashford has scored 19 goals in all competitions this season – a tally bettered only by Portuguese playmaker Bruno Fernandes.
However, with just two Premier League goals since the turn of the year – and one of those coming during the 9-0 drubbing against Southampton – his lack of form has been replicated across the board.
Indeed, in falling 14 points behind their city rivals, United have been held to three straight goalless draws in all competitions.
So could that be the main reason for Rashford’s omission in the Fantasy Premier League?

Manchester United were held to a 0-0 draw by Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his players were frustrated for the third goalless game in succession, dropping more points to allow Man City to streak away at the Premier League’s summit, on a poor day for the forwards.

Heading into matchday 28, Rashford remains one of the best-performing and most used players in the Fantasy Premier League.
Indeed, his 11.1% selection rate is enough to keep him in the top 20, while his 132 total points tally is only bettered by four players – namely Fernandes (196), Son Heung-min (173), Mohamed Salah (169) and Ilkay Gundogan (132).
Another reason for Rashford’s omission could be the defensive solidity of Pep Guardiola’s side, who have won 21 games across three competitions and have conceded just 17 goals during their charge for a third Premier League title in four years.
