Paul Pogba has been ruled out of Manchester United’s Premier League encounter with West Brom as he has a slight injury.
United confirmed that Pogba’s omission from the squad Ole Gunnar Solskjaer named was due to a ‘knock’. The 27-year-old played for France over the international break against Finland, Portugal and Sweden but picked up a knock in the last of those three games.
Solskjaer has picked Fred and Nemanja Matic to anchor his midfield, with Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek on the bench. The United boss has also handed a Premier League debut to Alex Telles at left-back.
The game is United’s first since beating Everton 3-1 before the international break, with Solskjaer’s men still searching for their first home victory in the Premier League this season.
Speaking to MUTV before the game on Pogba’s absence, Solskjaer said: “Paul has got a knock and he started feeling it yesterday before the session and he couldn’t carry on. Hopefully he’ll still be ok for Tuesday, but we still don’t know.
“We can’t have any excuses. With the 11 we started, it’s more or less the same as the Everton one. Nemanja for Scott but Scott’s been all over the world. We should have energy, we should be ok.
