Lingard reveals loan ambition
Jesse Lingard revealed that his ambition while on loan at West Ham United is to get on the pitch regularly and enjoy his football again.
Lingard endured a difficult period at United when his playing time was severely reduced. However, he made quite the impression on his West Ham debut, scoring twice in a 3-1 win over Aston Villa on Wednesday night. And now he is focusing on making the most of his prime years.
“I’m coming into my prime years,” he told West Ham United media. “I’m 28 and I want to be playing week in, week out.
“It has been a great move at the moment and I’ve got to carry it on. It is always the added bonus to score goals and help the team, but like I say it is about getting back out on the pitch and enjoying playing football – playing with a smile on my face.”
How Wan-Bissaka can improve
Fabio da Silva says that Aaron Wan-Bissaka can improve further in offensive areas, despite showing development since he arrived at Old Trafford two years ago.
United signed Wan-Bissaka two years ago. The former Crystal Palace man is renowned for his defensive stability and tackling skill, but Fabio says that he has improved in possession, too.
“I think he’s already improved, to be honest,” said Fabio. “I watch a lot of Man United, I follow them, and before he arrived I thought as an offensive full-back for United, he’s not going to do it.
“Everyone knew he was a great defender, his positioning is good, but, at the beginning, I thought: ‘I don’t know’.
“But now, really, he has improved a lot. He can still improve more, he is young, but now he’s a much better offensive player than when he arrived. So if he keeps improving, he will be a fantastic player, I really like him.”
Hint about Tahith Chong’s future
Club Brugge manager Philippe Clement has hinted that Tahith Chong could stay with the Belgian club beyond the end of the season.
Chong spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Werder Bremen but struggled for regular game time, making just four league starts.

Manchester United smashed nine goals past Southampton on Tuesday night as they bounced back from disappointing results against Sheffield United and Arsenal in emphatic fashion.
The game was effectively over as a contest inside the first two minutes as Southampton were reduced to 10 men, but United still had to find the goals and they did exactly that, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Marcus Rashford, Edinson Cavani, Anthony Martial (two), Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes and Daniel James all getting on the scoresheet.

He subsequently moved to Club Brugge for the remainder of the year, making a strong start at his new club as he scored and assisted in his debut. And Clement hinted that Chong could remain with the team beyond the end of the season if he wants to.
“You can see that he has had a good education,” the manager told HLN. “Tahith picks up things faster than boys who have had a less good education or than players who come from another continent. It all goes faster with him. If you tell him something, he answers.
“Maybe he doesn’t want to leave later, maybe he wants to stay here.”
