Man Utd team news: Three big Ole Gunnar Solskjaer changes to XI vs Crystal Palace leaked

3 min read

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer takes his Manchester United side to Crystal Palace tonight in search of all three points following Sunday’s 0-0 draw at Chelsea and early team news has emerged ahead of the trip to Selhurst Park. The Red Devils are looking to get back to winning ways against the Eagles with the race for top-four very much alive following a significant weekend of action that also saw Leicester drop points.

While Manchester City are set to cruise to the Premier League title, United need to ensure they maintain their cushion ahead of the chasing back.

They’ve had problems up against Crystal Palace in the past, namely on the opening day of the season when they were beaten 3-1 at Old Trafford.

Now United are looking to make amends in south east London and Solskjaer is set to shuffle his pack ahead of a second game in the capital in a matter of days.

According to journalist Jonathan Shrager, Dean Henderson, Eric Bailly and Edinson Cavani all start for the visitors.

As is Cavani, who is back in the squad for the first time in a matter of games having not featured since the 1-1 draw at West Brom.

The Uruguayan is ready to mark his return in style following a muscular injury, having trained earlier this week.

“We’ve had a training session this morning,” Solskjaer said yesterday in his press conference. “Of course, it was a light one and we’re looking okay.

“There are a couple of doubts for tomorrow that we have to give as much time as possible. Edinson trained, he’s joined in, that’s good, let’s hope there’s no reaction after the session and hopefully he will travel with the squad.”

Paul Pogba will still be missing for United, as he steps up his recovery from a thigh problem.

Solskjaer also explained how he hopes Phil Jones can feature again at some point this season following a hefty lay off with a knee injury.

He added on Jones and the World Cup winner: “With Phil, obviously we hope [he will play again this season]. He’s working really hard, he’s had a couple of setbacks and it’s just that kind of injury you have to be patient with and give him time. I know all about these injuries.

“I’m not sure [when Jones will be back], how long is a piece of rope? That’s how I felt as well, when I came back. We’ll give him absolutely every chance this season, if not the start of next.

“Paul is still not ready for us, he’s feeling better, he’s not been training with the team yet, so he’s definitely not travelling down to London.”
