Manchester United fans congratulated Daniel James after his excellent performance for Wales against Finland.
The 23-year-old has struggled to break into the starting XI under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following his debut season at United, managing just 180 minutes in the Premier League this season.
James hasn’t scored a league goal since striking against Southampton in August 2019 but retains the support of national team boss Ryan Giggs who continues to select the forward for international duty.
The winger showcased his talent in the win against Finland, finding the back of the net with a stunning strike that wowed United supporters while also providing a superb assist for Kieffer Moore in the closing stages.
United fans were delighted to see the forward back on the score sheet and hope he returns to form at club level.
Last month, Solskjaer insisted James’ confidence was high despite his below-par performances for the Reds.
He said: “Dan’s confidence is high. Because he’s starting games with the quality of players he’s in the team with.
“Today was one of those days where he played against some good players as well, he had some moments, and we keep on working.
“Dan’s had a really good impact at the club and we’re looking forward to developing him more.”
