Here are your Manchester United evening headlines for Monday, February 22.
The shot-stopper will seek to leave United in the summer if he is set to be De Gea’s back-up once again next season.
A series of Premier League clubs have registered their interest in the 23-year-old, including Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, and West Ham, while United value Henderson at £40million after the goalkeeper signed a new contract that expires in 2025.
Henderson is understood to have expressed his disappointment at his lack of opportunities to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. He has made just two league starts all season.
How Martial proves striker need
Midway through Sunday’s win over Newcastle United, Solskjaer shouted to Anthony Martial to move. He could be heard shouting: “Some movement!” Later, it was directed straight at Martial. “Antho, move. Start moving.”
Martial did not heed Solskjaer’s instruction, a moment that proves United’s need for a striker in the summer transfer window.
As Samuel Luckhurst writes for MEN Sport, Martial is too mercurial for United to rely on him. His poor performances in contrast to the harder-working and more productive Edinson Cavani are stark and highlight United’s need for a new centre-forward.
Cavani may extend his stay at Old Trafford for another year, but the long-term future of the position requires investment, and Martial proves it.

Maguire fed Rashford down the left side. One-on-one with Krafth, Rashford first nutmegged the Newcastle defender, drove into the penalty box, cut inside, and then pulled a cute finish back inside the near post.
As Maguire passed the ball to Rashford, he could be heard shouting: “Get in the box. Go on Rashy! Take him on.”
Rashford duly obliged and handed United a crucial opening goal.
