After playing a starring role in Manchester United’s rise to the summit of the Premier League, midfielder Bruno Fernandes has been given a big upgrade on FIFA 21.
In the latest player database update from EA SPORTS, rolled out for players on PC, Xbox and PlayStation on Monday January 11, the Portuguese midfielder has been rewarded with a boost on the mega-popular video game FIFA 21, as a reward for his strong form for United.
The 26-year-old has scored 11 goals and registered seven assists for the Reds in just 16 Premier League appearances so far this season, also scoring four times and assisting once in just six Champions League appearances in the 2020/21 campaign so far.

The former Sporting CP attacking midfielder’s heading accuracy (58-62), short passing (88-90), reactions (87-89), jumping (72-73), strength (69-70), positioning (84-85) and standing tackle (70-72) have all been increased on the game.
But more significantly, his overall rating has been increased too, going from 87 to 88 overall. His overall potential has also increased, boosted from 90 to 91 overall.
To put this increase of overall rating into context, this latest upgrade means that the midfielder is now far and away the best player at United on FIFA 21, with a higher overall rating than David De Gea (86), Paul Pogba (86), Marcus Rashford (85), Alex Telles (84) and Edinson Cavani (84).
He’s also now got the joint-highest potential rating at the club, matching Rashford and having higher potential than Mason Greenwood (89), Aaron Wan-Bissaka (88), Anthony Martial (87), Dean Henderson (87), Donny van de Beek (87) and Facundo Pellistri (87).
Fernandes now matches the likes of Toni Kroos, Raheem Sterling, Joshua Kimmich and N’Golo Kante in terms of overall rating on FIFA 21, but is still slightly below the likes of Harry Kane (89), Sadio Mane (90), Robert Lewandowski (91), Cristiano Ronaldo (92) and Lionel Messi (93).
But Fernandes isn’t the only player to have their attributes changed in the latest FIFA 21 update, with Scott McTominay, Edinson Cavani, Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw, Facundo Pellistri and Axel Tuanzebe all upgraded, whilst Eric Bailly, Jesse Lingard, Odion Ighalo and Phil Jones have been downgraded.
