Manchester United make the trip to Crystal Palace on Wednesday looking to improve upon a run of just two Premier League wins in seven matches.
The Reds put in a positive performance against Chelsea on Sunday but were held to a goalless draw, putting the pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side to record a strong result at Selhurst Park ahead of Sunday’s Manchester derby.
Here is the latest United injury news and when players may be back.
Pogba has been out since early February with a thigh injury and he is yet to return to training with the team. It means he is definitely ruled out of the trip to Crystal Palace and could face a battle to be back before the end of March due to the international break at the end of the month.
Expected return date: March 21
What Solskjaer said: “Paul is still not ready for us, he’s feeling better, he’s not been training with the team yet, so he’s definitely not travelling down to London.”
Cavani has not played since February 14 due to a muscular injury, but he trained with the side on Tuesday morning and is now in contention to feature on Wednesday.
Expected return date: March 3
What Solskjaer said: “Edinson trained, he’s joined in, that’s good, let’s hope there’s no reaction after the session and hopefully he will travel with the squad.”
Solskjaer confirmed last week that Mata will be out for around a fortnight with an unspecified injury.
Expected return date: March 14
What Solskjaer said: “Juan will, unfortunately, be out for a couple of weeks.”
Jones faces a fight to play at all this season as his recovery from a knee injury drags on.
The defender has not featured for United since January 2020 and sustained his latest injury in June.
Solskjaer says he is hoping to see Jones fit this season but admits it is impossible to say.
Expected return date: Unknown
What Solskjaer said: “With Phil, obviously we hope. He’s working really hard, he’s had a couple of setbacks and it’s just that kind of injury you have to be patient with and give him time. I know all about these injuries. How long is a piece of rope? That’s how I felt as well, when I came back. We’ll give him absolutely every chance this season, if not the start of next.”
