Manchester United fans have laughed off suggestions that Bruno Fernandes could leave for either Real Madrid or Barcelona.
Fernandes hit the ground running following his January switch to United, spearheading the charge to finish third in the Premier League.
The Portuguese’s form has continued into the new campaign and his impressive showings have attracted interest from the La Liga giants according to a report published by Spanish outlet Sport.
They claim Fernandes would be willing to leave United at the end of the season if the club fail to meet expectations until Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and Bayern Munich all interested.
Fernandes has stated on multiple occasions it was a dream come true to sign for United and supporters aren’t concerned in the slightest that he would want to leave or that United would authorise his sale.
Solskjaer handed Fernandes the captain’s armband for the recent win against Paris Saint-Germain, a gesture that humbled the Portugal international.
He said when told of the news: “I was not expecting this, I have found out the same time as you!” For me it’s an honour, I will be captain for my teammates and to be captain of Manchester United is an important achievement for me.
“But I think everyone is the captain. Everyone needs to help and be a leader in their own way, leadership is different in every player. Tomorrow will not be about me but the team.
“Leading is every day in the training ground, every game and everyone is doing their job to lead the team in the way they think is best.”
