Manchester United fans want to see Amad handed more opportunities in the closing stages of the season following a significant injury blow to Anthony Martial.
The forward suffered an injury whilst on France duty during the international break and was not part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad for the Premier League clash against Brighton.
“Unfortunately he’s sprained his knee with France, it’s always when they go away for internationals,” he said ahead of kick-off.
“It’s fingers crossed and hope they’re going to come back fit — losing Anthony for what might be the rest of the season is very disappointing.”
That represents a significant blow for United’s end to the season, where the squad are fighting to secure a top-four finish and Champions League football next season, as well as pushing for glory in the Europa League – with the first-leg of the quarter-final showdown with Granada on Thursday.
However, numerous fans on social media all came to the same conclusion as they believe Martial’s problems could hand more opportunities to Amad.
The 18-year-old has caught the eye with his cameos for United this season and made his senior debut for the Ivory Coast in the recent international break.
Having made his debut in the Europa League against Real Sociedad, Amad’s first goal for United came in a 1-1 draw against AC Milan at the San Siro.
While the teenager is still waiting for his first opportunity in the Premier League, fans believe that chance could now be right around the corner.
