Manchester United fans believe Daniel James should not be allowed to leave the club this summer.
James, 23, joined the Reds from Swansea last season on the back of an impressive campaign with the Championship side.
The Welshman became a key player under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but admitted he did not expect to play as much as he did in his debut season. However, James has struggled to break into the starting XI following the emergence of Mason Greenwood on the right wing.
Various reports have suggested that James is a loan target for both Leeds United, the club that he almost joined in January 2019, as well as Brighton, managed by Graham Potter who was Swansea boss during James’ time with the club.
MEN Sport understand sources close to the player do not expect a deal of any kind to happen this year despite United’s interest in Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho. James remains part of Solskjaer’s plans for the upcoming season.

Nevertheless, speculation persists that James could leave Old Trafford if Sancho arrives before the October 5 deadline but United fans believe he should not be allowed to leave as he remains a useful squad option.
Here’s what they said:
United legend Ryan Giggs has backed the winger to recapture the form he showed during his first five games with the club.
He told WalesOnline: “He’s still young. If you go back 18 months he was just getting into the Swansea team, so it has been an interesting two years or so. He’ll be all the better for last season’s experiences.
“He’ll look to start the season well and give Ole the problem of picking him. But with teams like United who are in Europe, you’ll always have a lot of games, so you’ll get plenty of game time, and when you do get the chance you have to take it.”
