Man City Women vs Manchester United highlights

1 min read

Manchester City and Manchester United are looking to boost their Women’s Super League title hopes tonight by clinching bragging rights in the derby at the Academy Stadium.

With Chelsea leading the way on 35 points, Casey Stoney’s United are three points behind and can go level with victory tonight, however they will have played a game more. City are five behind Chelsea and two behind United, but have a game in hand over both, so need to win this game to jump into second place.

United fell to a surprise defeat to Reading last time out, giving City the chance to capitalise as they won at Arsenal. Gareth Taylor’s side have won their last six in the WSL.

The last time these sides met in the league, City raced into a two-goal lead at half time, but were pegged back for a draw as Tobin Heath and Kirsty Hanson scored after the break. United won on penalties in the league cup later that week after a goalless draw, making it two wins apiece when these sides have met.
