Manchester United endured a difficult weekend in the Premier League as they slipped further behind Manchester City with a draw against West Bromwich Albion.
United are now seven points behind the league leaders, who produced an impressive performance to beat Tottenham 3-0 before Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side drew 1-1 at The Hawthorns.
Mbaye Diagne’s early header put West Brom 1-0 up after just two minutes and although United responded through Bruno Fernandes’ stunning volley, they could not force a winner.
But while Solskjaer’s side struggled, there were some positive performances from United players who are out on loan.
Jesse Lingard will play for West Ham against Sheffield United on Monday night, Club Brugge did not have a game for Tahith Chong to play in and Di’Shon Bernard’s next Salford fixture is on Tuesday, but here is how United’s other notable loanees got on this weekend.
The 25-year-old midfielder made his 20th appearance of the season for Lazio, who played Inter Milan in Serie A on Sunday.
Pereira only played the final 12 minutes of the match and it was former United striker Romelu Lukaku who was the star of the show, scoring twice and setting up the other for Lautaro Martinez as Inter ran out 3-1 winners to move top of Serie A.
Pereira completed eight of his 12 attempted passes and managed one shot on target.
It was not a happy weekend for Dalot , who was panned by the Italian media for his performance in AC Milan’s 2-0 defeat by Spezia, with Sky Italia pundit Stefano De Grandis dubbing him ‘the worst’ player on the pitch.
Dalot has been getting a decent amount of football under his belt this season, having made 17 appearances since moving to Italy.
The 19-year-old winger is yet to make his debut for Alaves after joining the Spanish club on loan in January.
Pellistri has been an unused substitute in both matches since arriving at Alaves – the latest of which was the 5-1 defeat by Barcelona on Saturday.
Alaves are battling relegation in La Liga and are currently in 16th place, one point above the drop zone.
The 20-year-old midfielder has made 16 appearances on loan with Caen in Ligue 2 so far this season.
Traore has mainly been used as a substitute so far, making just four starts in the league, and that was the same situation on the weekend, as he played the final two minutes in Caen’s 1-0 win over Niort.
Laird continues to impress during his positive spell with Milton Keynes Dons, and he helped them pick up a 1-0 win away at Hull City on Saturday.
Having played an important role in the 4-1 win at Rochdale on Tuesday, he picked up where he left off at Hull, playing in the right-wing back position.
The 19-year-old completed 20 of 24 passes and completed two of his four attempted dribbles, while firing in one shot at goal.
Laird has recorded one assist from 573 minutes of League One football, with an average WhoScored rating of 7.17 across seven games.
Garner played 90 minutes once again in central midfield for Nottingham Forest as they drew 0-0 with Bournemouth in the Championship.
He completed 17 of 25 passes, making a team-high two key passes as well as three interceptions and two tackles.
The match was the third in succession in which Garner played the entire match, showing that he is getting valuable action following a more frustrating spell at Watford.

Mengi got his first taste of action for Derby County, appearing as an 86th-minute substitute in the Rams’ 2-1 win over Middlesbrough on Saturday.
Derby appear to have turned the corner under Wayne Rooney, having won four of their last five Championship matches to move up to 19th place.
Having made his debut, Mengi will be hoping to get more regular game time in the upcoming fixtures.
