Roy Keane believes Manchester United may be “scared” from losing 6-1 to Tottenham after drawing 0-0 with Chelsea and are no longer trying to win the Premier League title.
It was the sixth-consecutive Premier League match that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s side had failed to score against the ‘big six’ this season.
United produced another conservative display at Stamford Bridge with neither side able to break each other down, resulting in another 0-0, as was the case at Old Trafford.
Keane believes this could be due to the 6-1 victory Spurs inflicted earlier in the campaign and also believes his side have now given up on winning the Premier League title.
“From that second-half performance, I think they’re probably concentrating on trying to cement second-place and win a cup.
“Maybe they are scared from the Spurs game, I don’t know. I don’t know this group obviously, we’re just guessing, but maybe their mindset is when they’re going into these games, I’ve seen poor games.
“Sometimes you can have a 0-0 and it’s a great game, the goalkeepers have done fantastic, missed penalties, whatever, but some of the games we’ve watched, we’ve covered, have been really boring.
“We dressed it up before the game about it being a clean sheet and some positives, but the lack of goals from United’s point of view with the good players they have on the pitch, it might be something with their mindset, or again as the game goes on, settling for the draw and not looking to be beaten.

“I always think the Man United mindset, the onus is on you to win a football match and you take an element of risk to losing whereas the mindset of United at the moment is to not be beaten in these big games, instead of going: ‘Listen, let’s go for it’.”
