Josh King prefers to move to Man United this summer and more rumours

Bournemouth striker Joshua King is holding out hope that he will finally be able to return to Manchester United this summer, according to reports.

King left United after spending five years in the club’s youth system in 2013 and, although he didn’t enjoy much success at Blackburn Rovers, he has gone on to establish himself as a dependable and versatile Premier League forward at Bournemouth.

Despite only playing 26 games last season due to a muscle injury, he still managed to bag six goals and four assists but it wasn’t enough to keep the Cherries in the top flight.

New Bournemouth boss Jason Tindall has admitted that any of his players could be up for grabs this summer and it has opened the door for United to potentially make another approach for the Norwegian.

United tried to re-sign King on January deadline day when they were in desperate need for a new striker but the move was blocked by Bournemouth, with Odion Ighalo being recruited instead.

The 28-year-old has since admitted that he ‘really wanted’ to complete the move and, according to The Athletic, his preference remains a return to Old Trafford this summer over the number of other options he has on the table.

It’s reported that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on a reunion with his countryman but the club hierarchy has not yet given any indication on whether they will make an offer, with Bournemouth valuing the player between £15-20million.

Meanwhile, United have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Porto left-back Alex Telles, who is on ‘relatively cheap’ wages.

MEN Sport understands that United are considering a move for a new left-back this summer due to uncertainty in full-back positions and are monitoring Sergio Reguilon and Vitaliy Mykolenko.

It’s claimed by the Transfer Window Podcast that Telles is also on the list, with Porto looking to cash in on 27-year-old.
