Maguire has been United’s priority defensive target since the the start of the summer, with Ed Woodward lining up an £80million transfer move to make the 26-year-old the most expensive defender of all time.
It’s understood Maguire has told Leicester that he’s keen to secure a move away from the club before deadline day and his absence from training this week fueled rumours of an impending move to Old Trafford.
However, the Foxes have maintained that Maguire is suffering with an illness and this was the reason for him skipping Monday’s training session.
Maguire’s close friend and team-mate Maddison – who has also been linked with United this summer – posted a tweet indicating that the defender missed training with an upset stomach.
Not sure Maguire will appreciate Maddison’s emoji selection, though…

Maguire managed 90 minutes of Leicester’s friendly with Stoke at the weekend and Brendan Rodgers had nothing but praise for the Englishman’s attitude in pre-season.
‘He’s been brilliant since the first day of pre-season,’ the Leicester manager said.
‘There’s a lot of speculation around Harry but he’s just got on with it.
‘Like I’ve always said, we’re all pretty relaxed with it.
‘We’re looking to prepare the whole team and squad and Harry’s a part of that.
‘He’s been excellent for us and he’s working very hard.’
