Jack Grealish is a ‘game-changer’ for sides like Man Utd and is ‘worth every penny’ says Alan Hutton

Jack Grealish is worth ‘every penny’ of his £80million price tag in the eyes of Alan Hutton, even if Manchester United are reluctant to fork out for a big-money move.

The 24-year-old is believed to be top of United’s transfer wish list this summer with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looking to bolster his midfield options.

Villa are reluctant to let their captain go as the Birmingham-born star has scored nine goals this season and set up eight for his team-mates in a struggling Villa side in all competitions.

Due to the club’s strong financial situation, if they are forced to let Grealish leave, they will not sell him for cheap.

Villa owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens will not drop Grealish’s asking price for any reason and will stick to this policy over the summer.

Former Scotland and Tottenham full-back, Hutton, believes that United will benefit from splashing the cash on the attacking midfielder.

‘Obviously it’s a massive price tag, but in my opinion, he’s worth every penny, he’s that good,’ he told Football Insider.

‘He could be a team’s game-changer, and that’s no disrespect to anyone at Aston Villa, you know I love them to bits, but for him to be playing with a top-four team, I think he’d be outstanding.

‘Everybody would be buzzing off him, they would see his quality, and I think he would only grow in stature, so I totally understand the price tag. Whether what’s happened is going to affect it, I’m not too sure because it’s going to happen to every club.’

Grealish has been a Villa player for his entire career, having broken into the club’s first-team squad from the youth ranks in 2013.

He has since made 177 appearances in all competitions for his boyhood club, scoring 24 goals.

His team-mate Conor Hourihane says he thoroughly deserves a lucrative switch to a bigger team and urged England boss Gareth Southgate to call him up to the senior squad.
