Dortmund boss Edin Terzic responds to Raiola’s meeting with Haaland suitors

2 min read

Edin Terzic says he and Borussia Dortmund have been unaffected by Mino Raiola’s public courting of Erling Haaland’s suitors.

Raiola and Haaland’s father, Alf-Inge, made a highly-public trip to Spain last week to meet with Real Madrid and Barcelona, with reports claiming he subsequently travelled to England in a bid to meet the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City.

United’s response was that they do not do business in such a public manner but Dortmund boss Terzic says he is not concerned by what Raiola and Haaland’s father did.

Speaking ahead of Dortmund’s Champions League tie with City, Terzic said he is more focused on the impact Haaland can have on his side rather than what the forward’s agent and family members are doing.

He said: “Personally it has no impact on me because I can’t stop Mino Raiola and Alf-Inge from travelling.

“So it’s up to them. They’re grown-ups and can choose whatever they want to do.

“I can just have an impact on Erling and we are happy to have him in our team.

“He’s back with us since last Thursday, when he came back from Norway, and the feeling that we had from the start was that he was very happy to see us and we’re very happy to have him around.

“He’s a lovely guy and I think his qualities are well-known all over the world.

“We’re proud and happy that he is part of our team.”

Haaland is likely to be involved for Dortmund against City in Tuesday evening’s Champions League quarter-final first leg at the Etihad.

The 20-year-old will be looking to add to the 10 goals that he has already netted in the competition this season, which is four more than any other player.
