West Ham manager David Moyes has revealed that he ‘completely disagrees’ with the club’s owners over their reported £100million valuation of Declan Rice ahead of the summer transfer window.

Rice has been a key to the Hammers’ impressive start to the campaign, with the side sitting seventh in the Premier League table, but the 22-year-old has long been linked with a move away from the London Stadium.

It’s understood Chelsea, Rice’s boyhood team, and Manchester United are at the front of the queue for the midfielder’s signature and West Ham are bracing themselves for potential big-money offers from their rivals at the end of the season.

Widespread reports suggest West Ham have slapped a £100m on the England international but Moyes is adamant his prized possession is worth ‘far, far more than’ that in today’s market.

‘The owners think he’s worth £100m? Well, I completely disagree with that,’ he said.

‘Far, far more than £100m. I have watched the prices of some players who have gone to clubs recently and they could not lace Declan Rice’s boots.

‘They have come from overseas and made nowhere near the impact Declan would have.’

Moyes insisted West Ham have so far had no approached from rival clubs and underlined that the youngster is tied into a deal until 2024.

‘At the moment we have had no contact for Declan,’ he added.

‘We’ve not had an offer and I hope we don’t get one. I am not in a hurry to lose him.

‘Do we need the Champions League to keep Declan? No, because Declan is under contract and I hope people know that when I say something I mean it.’
