The pound-for-pound star will however have the advantage in power, though thankfully for Saunders his fists are not as concussive as the man he believes to be the biggest puncher in history.
Asked if he could have the power of any fighter from any time, who would it be, Canelo told DAZN: ‘Mike Tyson because he had a brutal punch.
‘Even if he grazed you, he’d knock you out.’

‘I would have loved to be in there with any of those fighters.’
Leonard, Duran and Hagler were part of the Four Kings alongside Thomas Hitman Hearns who helped to revitialise boxing in the Eighties.
Canelo sharing the ring with either of them greats in their prime would’ve been quite the spectacle but unfortunately those fights will only ever remain a fantasy.
The 30-year-old, who is widely considered the best fighter on the planet at this moment, revealed he takes inspiration from other athletes and recently spoke to Sportsmail about his admiration for Tiger Woods.

‘They’re all good examples to follow, and I obviously admire them all.
‘There may be some I’m not mentioning. I have a lot of admiration for all of them.’
The feeling is likely mutual.
