Erling Haaland is widely regarded as of the most prolific goalscorers in Europe – but he might yet be pipped to the official tag by two Manchester United players.
Ten of those strikes have come in the Champions League this campaign.
However, following Dortmund’s exit from Europe – at the hands of Manchester City – the Norway sensation can, of course, no longer add that total.
With nine and eight goals respectively, the United duo will have at least one opportunity to surpass Haaland.
However, on the back of a 6-2 demolition against Roma in the Europa League semi-final first leg, it looks for all the world that those two – and their United teammates – are heading to next month’s Gdansk showpiece, too.
Fernandes’ nine European goals this season are almost exactly split, with four coming in the Champions League and five in the supplementary competition.
As for Rashford, meanwhile, he scored six times in the UCL group stage – adding a further two in the Europa League.
