Borussia Monchengladbach confirm Denis Zakaria transfer stance amid Manchester United links

Borussia Monchengladbach have confirmed that Denis Zakaria could leave the club in January.
Zakaria, 25, is out of contract in Germany at the end of the season and he’s been linked with an array of elite clubs.
The midfielder has been regularly linked with a transfer to Old Trafford and, while the Manchester Evening News understands signing a defensive midfielder is the club’s priority, sources have indicated that United are expecting a quiet January transfer window.
Any incomings at United would currently need to be funded by outgoings and conducting business in the summer is also preferred.
It is understood that United haven’t opened dialogue with Zakaria over a transfer and Borussia Monchengladbach’s director of sport, Max Eberl, recently confirmed that the club have received no formal bids for the player despite what reports may suggest.
“There’s nothing on my desk,” Eberl told Kicker.
“It’s not surprising that there is speculation about both of them [Zakaria and Ginter] and especially Denis, but it’s no longer our topic.
“They both still have a half year of contract. But we have also said again and again that if something comes up that we have to deal with for financial reasons. I cannot rule out that both will leave the club in winter – or one. There will be changes in the summer.
“We’ve worked with one squad for almost three years now.”
